It works! At least I've now been testing it on the site for almost a day and am quite sure all the bugs are gone.
Try out a CX debate today and let me know how you like my implementation of it!

Question everyone: I just noticed the random debate challenges don't generate challenges with cross-examination. Should they?

Yep! Also, how does CX work exactly?

The way I've implemented it, at the end of each round there's a period of time (equal to the post time for each debater) where you get to fire questions at all the other debaters in a shoutbox (all the questions/responses are then saved and put in the debate). Meant for simulating formats, particularly used in the US, where at the end of the round one side can ask the other questions.

OK. I think I get it - it's like some of the election debates I watch on youtube right?
They make a big point and then before they start on their next big point, they have a little back and forth?
But it's not for the observers -only for the participants, right?
I'll be keen to see someone do a debate in this format.
admin:
Yeah I didn't really get that one either...
just saying.

The observers can see the back and forth, but they can't participate. So sorta like an election thing.
