Ta da. Your profile image in the top bar is now no longer a profile link, but a notifications center. Click on it to see your site notifications.
See also your settings, where you can now choose to get your notifications onsite, via email, via both (default) or not at all.
Let me know if you find bugs. This has changed quite a bit of code (ie the code for every single notification on the site) so there's always the possibility I've stuffed up.
