Chat bugfixes

Used to hate the live chat feature due to bugs, incompatibility with multiple tabs and more? Well you don't have to worry any longer! Thanks to my #1 testers ADreamOfLiberty and nzlockie, and my discovery that jQuery and html5 storage don't coexist as happily as you'd expect them too, I now believe all of these issues will have been resolved!

As always, if you spot a bug, bug me. I'm going to go and crack codes / add new features now.

admin: I hope so, I'm interested to see if she can pull it off in this new environment. Especially since she's on record as saying that she only comments meaningful things.

nzlockie: "meaningful" can be interpreted pretty loosely.

admin: I was chatting just now, you know important stuff like GMOs and Chris Lilley and when I move to a new page the last thing that was recorded had been from 36 minutes before. That's not supposed to happen right?

That was happening to me too. The entire chat log was saved correctly though. Could it be that that little window can only show so many messages?

nzlockie: Well, why would it just remove them so arbitrarily?

OK, I'm having something weird happen right now.

I'm on one computer using chrome, having a chat convo with my mate Pinkie there.
Dinner is ready, so I leave the computer and come through and have tea. I fire up the laptop and open up Edeb8 using IE. The chat window has popped up and is showing her last message to me, only it's repeating over and over again. I can't shut the window down because it keeps popping open. The message is still repeating even now, only the time stamp shows it as being 20minutes ago - which is correct.
When I check my chat log, it shows the message being posted only once.

nzlockie: I've just gone and logged back in on chrome on my other computer - no problem. The new message pops up once. I "X" it and it stays closed.

Logged out of Edeb8 on IE and logged back in and we have the same window repeating that last message over and over again.

Now it's taken me 3 attempts to be able to log into the site successfully using IE. Chrome goes in straight away. When I tried with IE it would log me in and then log me out straight away.

nzlockie: Your IE is super weird.

I wonder if for some reason it's not able to save a cookie large enough to hold all of your chats. I'm going to investigate.

nzlockie: Actually I wonder if your IE has cached a previous version of the chat? Is this possible?

admin: Cleared cache and problem disappeared!

nzlockie: I also just fixed your other issue with chats disappearing if you have too many. Swapped from using cookies to storing on the server.

nzlockie: Nah, that was me. Jk. That is weird.
