"Ba'ath in Iraq declares war on ISIS"
Oh yeshhhhhh.....yeshhhh...I have always loved this movement called Ba'athism for it's emphasis on secular identity rather than religious identity....but this.....this.....and I know this is old, but I felt that the declaration was too late. I never thought that the Baath should support the Islamic State, and when I knew that they did, I was shocked. But this news is crucial, and overlooked in my opinion: the Islamic State has an army of 200k men. 75,000 of these guys come from the Iraqi Ba'athist Party's militia, the GCMIR. Apart from this, the Iraqi Ba'ath also governed Mosul after the fall of the Shi'ite government in Baghdad, so when IS arrested some of it's men, kamboom, Mosul falls into the wrong hands. I think the best way now is to win over the GCMIR to the government side, and the launch an offensive using the capabilities of the GCMIR and the Iraqi Army, ultimately defeating the IS occupiers, and ultimately decriminalizing the Ba'ath Party in Iraq, restore it to the original Ba'ath lines, and have a democracy upon those principle.
