I fail to see the horror.

My opponent has failed to provide a complete argument for the resolution. Once he shows why the point he makes impacts the resolution, I shall be able to respond to it. Even if it did impact, the same can be said for literally anyone. "Donald Trump is a popular entertainer, can you imagine the horror of him becoming involved with poli... oh, wait..."

My argument is simple: no matter how popular or entertaining, a person is still a person.

On side negative, we affirm the value of democracy. We believe that all people have the right to engage in political decision making, as equals under the law. That is good because social investment in political policy brings about cultural changes that affirm political actions. People resent when laws are forced upon them, and like when they had some stake in making that law.

Popular entertainers who engage in political campaigns are simply acting in accordance with this democratic privilege. They are proving that they can be political individuals as well, outside of their narrowly defined lives as workers.

The resolution is negated.
