Okay, so a lot of people have been giving me trouble about my stance on BDSM lately, so I think this is as good a place as any to resolve the issue. My personal belief is that BDSM should be allowed under verbal consent. Acts under verbal consent, including sadomasochist sexual acts, should be tolerated and not discriminated against. It is imperative that we look at BDSM and not confuse what is going on with torture and rape. The BDSM community pretends to torture and to rape, but we must remember it is all pretend. No one is actually being tortured or raped, because an act of torture and an act of rape denotes that one side did not give consent.
I do not condone or support torture or rape, but I do condone consensual sex which imitate a pretend torture or rape scenario. Why that is so controversial is beyond me.
