This was discovered earlier this week:

I am highly skeptical because of how the article was written. The article heading is misleading as well as the article itself. The scientists haven't proven anything; the article is very misleading as the news usually is. The scientists have only theorized the origin of the organisms they have found. The scientists have only offered their opinions about the organisms. To study and understand the origin of the organisms is a different matter altogether from what they have studied.

Well, not really JUST theorized. They have some actual evidence on their side.

That's some actual evidence of it coming from comets though. The team also probably believes the earth revolves around the sun, and thinks the sun emits light.

so we think they came from an aquatic environment
What they "think" is an assumption, not a fact.
the most obvious aquatic environment in space is a comet."
Circumstantial conclusions passing off as facts is unsatisfactory in the science community. That is why I stated this more of popular article than one written in a scientific journal. "Some actual evidence" is not satisfactory. It would be like an EMT reporting an unhealthy elder person with hemophilia who had a heart attack dead because of the heart attack. Correlation is merely circumstantial and no one arrives at satisfactory facts that way. That requires a different study to be taken.

Evidence does not mean fact, they never claimed to have proof. Not every "thought" is not factual either. Having evidence is a step further than just having a theory though. More study, of course, would be required.
