Awesome music thread

One of my top 3 favoutire artists is James Taylor. Carole King would be near the top too.
A few years ago I got to see them both on this tour and they were awesome. Second best concert I've ever been too - and I was sick as a dog that night as well.

This song was one of my favourites due mostly to the sheer amount of feeling Carole King puts into the lyrics.





I wish more modern artists sang like this.

nzlockie: He actually deserves a fair amount of praise for his musical ability. I can barely play this song as smooth as he plays it and that's without singing at the same time. He deserves the most praise for keeping a straight face though.

"Battle Hymn of the Republic" by Sun Harbor. This should be made the American National Anthem rather than that drunken melody nonsense Americans sing.

I actually started putting together a debate around whether the US should change their anthem but then pulled it at the last minute because I know too many Americans that get quite one-eyed when it comes to their anthem - something they are obviously quite entitled to do!

I didn't want to chance offending someone on a topic that I only had a curious passing interest in anyway so I yanked it.

Once, I mispronounced someone's name whom I didn't know before and they became extremely upset. I can describe someone's features and they will be offended even if I say they are tall or short. I don't intend to offend anyone but they will take offence anyways.

I don't see how you are intending to harm someone or incite anger by trying to debate a national anthem. I wouldn't be surprised that all of the debates you have started offended someone.

Been a while since anything new was posted to this thread, so here's a kiwi classic from one of the most unexpected calab bands of the 90's.

The pasty white guy is Karl Steven who holds a PHD in Ancient Greek and Roman Philosophy from Cambridge.
The awesome Maori dude is Kiwi Hip Hop royalty, Che Fu.
