A cassette is just a small cartridge. Baby-case maybe. From now on let's just call them baby-cases to avoid confusion.

Anything that needs a small casection. In J's context, the cassette holds a ribbon with ink on it that the letter keys punch through and take ink onto the paper. Well before my time. ..
