That civil forfeiture is important in stopping crime

It would be a much more interesting topic if we debated whether civil forfeiture is right to begin with in the first place. It would change the debate from "It works" to "ends justify the means."

It was actually a suggestion to change this topic. Civil forfeiture is fun to debate, but the main issue isn't whether it works or not. The main issue is whether it works well enough to justify seizing others legal property.
